Interfaith prayers for peace
representatives from multiple theological backgrounds pray together

At church we regularly pray together for peace in the world. And we are not alone: People of many other faiths do the same, day by day and week by week.

Each June, representatives of numerous faiths lead interfaith prayers for peace at Burg Namedy near Andernach. They gather with guests and visitors as part of an open day at the invitation of Heide Prinzessin von Hohenzollern.

For the last two years, Jenny Knudsen has represented our chaplaincy there, contributing a short reflection and prayer in English and German. Alongside other Christian representatives from the Roman Catholic and Old Catholic Churches, prayers are offered by people from the Yazidi, Jewish, Buddhist, Muslim and Baháʼí faiths. Languages mingle as voices join to pray for the peace of the world.
